Florida Man Sets Bouncer on Fire After Being Kicked Out of Bar

WARNING: The footage in the above video is violent and not suitable for all audiences.

A Florida bouncer is recovering from life-threatening injuries as police search for the man who set him on fire late Sunday night. The full video report is above, and raw security footage of the attack is below. The bright flaring light in the footage is the bouncer being set ablaze.

Ivan Louis Rodriguez, 45, was kicked out of Neely’s Grog House after he allegedly tried to pay for his bill using a personal check. Evidently, he had done the same thing in recent weeks, but those checks bounced. Rodriguez then allegedly tried to hustle bar patrons at a pool table, in hopes of paying for his tab. That’s when the bouncer, Brian Johnston, kicked Rodriguez out of the bar.

Unfortunately, the story didn’t end there.

Port St. Lucie Police Sgt. Frank Sabol said Rodriguez returned later with a cup of gasoline and threw it on Johnston. The bouncer and his friend chased Rodriguez outside and tackled him down, but during the struggle Rodriguez lit Johnston on fire before fleeing in a truck.

Johnston sustained severe burns to his arms, face and chest, and is currently in a burn unit at a Miami hospital. Police are still searching for Rodriguez, who is wanted for aggravated battery.
