Grace Jones Hula-Hoops at Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee

There are times in life when things make absolute sense: Like when a person who’s texting while driving gets in a car accident, or when the insane TV marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries ends abruptly because they’re not actually in love.

And then there are times where you just stand there, stunned, wondering WTF?

At yesterday’s Diamond Jubilee concert held in front of Buckingham Palace, Grace Jones saluted the Queen of England, Elizabeth II. She donned a red-and-black one-piece, a black train with bustle, a fishtail headdress, and hula-hooped while performing her hit “Slave to the Rhythm.” It makes that Sir Paul McCartney headlined the event, with appearances by Sir Elton John, Jessie J., and Australian songstress Kylie Minogue who’s incredibly popular in Europe. But Grace Jones?

That’s what happened, and while we’re not quite sure how Her Majesty felt about the performance, we can tell you this: It’s actually kind of amazing. Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
