When Reddit user Spikesplayfood‘s grandfather recently passed away, he was surprised to discover his WWII duffel bag while cleaning out the garage.
According to the post, his grandpa was drafted into the US Navy and fought in the Asia-Pacific War as a radio technician (he also fought in Okinawa and Iwo Jima). He explained that his position forced him to be sent to the front line after the first wave of soldiers had a secured location.
Although his grandfather always told him that he didn’t keep any of the equipment used during battle, it looks like he left some WWII artifacts behind to be treasured. It’s like having his own personal little historical museum.
