Happy Birthday, Julie Brown!

If you’re too young to know who Julie Brown is, you must be educated immediately. Fortunately, we’re here to help you out.

Brown is an actor, voice actor, comedienne, writer, singer-songwriter, director– the girl has done it all! She came to fame in the 1980s, often playing the quintessential valley girl character. But she also became known for mocking famous celebs, such as in Medusa: Dare to Be Truthful (above, center), which was a satire of Madonna’s documentary Truth or Dare, and Attack of the 5 Ft. 2 Women, a mockumentary about ice skater Tonya Harding’s violent attack toward rival Nancy Kerrigan. She also had numerous musical hits, such as “‘Cause I’m a Blonde” (above, right) and “The Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun,” a song that would probably never get airplay today.

She’s worked on tons of stuff. She even co-wrote and appeared in the Disney Channel original movieĀ Camp Rock. See, she’s totally part of pop culture.

Basically, we love her, and just realized it was her birthday. So in honor of Ms. Brown and all the amazeballs things she’s done over the years, here are two of our favorite videos. You can read more about her at JulieBrown.com and on her Wikipedia page.
