Hawks are terrifyingly majestic works of nature. Once the swift predator locks in on its prey, there is little chance of hope for the often-unsuspecting victim. This has been further confirmed by the video captured by a GoPro-equipped quadcopter.
Christopher Schmidt was flying his quadcopter over Magazine Beach Park in Cambridge when it became the next target for a local hawk.
It all goes down in the blink of an eye—a testament to the grace and swiftness with which hawks hunt. The hawk swoops in, knocking the drone to the ground. When he posted the clip to YouTube, Schmidt said that the hawk did not appear to sustain any injuries from the collision, and that his quadcopter came out unscathed as well.
