Air travel just got cuter than ever. Business Traveller Magazine reported today that starting September 18th, the Taiwanese airline EVA Air will begin flying Hello-Kitty to the US.
Adding to the existing fleet of five Hello Kitty-themed planes already in routes around Japan, South Korea and China, among others, now the cuteness comes stateside with a Hello Kitty plane from Taipei to Los Angeles.
“The airline teamed up with Sanrio, the agent of the cartoon cat, to dress up a number of its A330s in Hello Kitty motifs in 2011, and there are currently five of these aircraft, including Magic jet, Clouds jet, Music jet, World jet and Apple jet. The planes have taken the famed feline star on tour to Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, China and Guam, and on the new B777, she is set to take the City of Angels by storm next month. Europe is also on her agenda.”
The 777 are still being worked on, but CNN reports that the planes should look like the A330s currently in service.
The outside of the planes will be painted with Hello Kitty and her friends. Pillows, headrests, luggage tags, toiletries, in-flight snacks, and even barf bags are all designed in Hello Kitty themes.
For all those little girls who hated to fly, this just might be the answer to 18 hour Asia flights.
