The Horrifying Effects of Radioactive Weapons Used on People in Iraq

WARNING: Video may be too graphic and disturbing for some readers.

This award-winning documentary exposes the horrifying health effects and impact radioactive weapons have had on people in Iraq.

The film, titled The Doctor, the Depleted Uranium, and the Dying Children, was produced by Freider Wagner and Valentin Thurn for German television.

It begins with two British veterans discussing their level of exposure to these radioactive, or depleted uranium (DU), weapons and the congenital defects they have had on their children. Allegedly, more than one out of every three veterans who served in the first Gulf War are permanently disabled from DU.

The years of chemical and nuclear warfare waged against Iraq have resulted in grossly deformed children, while an unknown number of Americans have also been born with severe birth defects as a result of the contamination.

When particles of radioactive uranium oxide dust are inhaled, it gets stuck in the lungs or travels throughout a person’s body. The tiniest particles wind up being carried through cell walls and disrupting the DNA.
