Tonight is the final episode of the hit CBS TV series How I Met Your Mother. This is the series starring Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan, and for fans of the show it’s been a really fun ride.
As you may know, the “I” in the title refers to Ted Mosby (Radnor), who opens the episodes narrating to his two children the story of how he met their mom. The How I Met Your Mother kids are played by David Henrie and Lyndsy Fonseca, both of whom went on to have successful careers — Henrie on Wizards of Waverly Place and That’s So Raven, and Fonseca on Nikita.
However, to viewers of the show, those two are still kids, still listening to their dad’s story, which has taken place over 9 years.
To poke fun at that constantly reused footage, the creators of HIMYM shot a fun video for the 2013 Comic-Con International in San Diego. This video aired before the HIMYM panel, and it features the same two actors. However, in this version Ted’s kids are now adults, and they finally lose it, yelling at him for how he wasted their lives by taking 9 years to tell them the story of how he met their mom.
If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll love it. If you only watched it a little bit, you’ll love it. Heck,if you just read the above summary we think you’ll still get a kick out of this video.
Check it out. The video below is a great send off (with some awkward silence at the beginning for some reason). The final episode of How I Met Your Mother airs tonight on CBS.
