Nine-year-old girl Emma Gonzales was suffering from a coughing attack when she reached for her inhaler in class. Her teacher immediately sent her to the nurse’s office before she could use it. Once Emma was with the nurse she was still not allowed to use her inhaler, causing her attack to spiral out of control making her vomit on herself.
According to a FOX News affiliate, the staff at Columbia Elementary took the fourth grader’s inhaler because there was not any paperwork filed for her medication. It also did not have her name on it, indicating that it was in fact hers.
Emma was being watched during her attack which finally ended without the use of her inhaler. Her parents told FOX that they understand the school’s policy, but wish they would of helped their daughter by taking action sooner.
