The future seems bright for pot these days. It seems that one by one every state in the union will eventually legalize marijuana, and with that comes an entirely new industry that will create jobs. But how about merging the old with the new? We’re talking about marrying weed with our favorite ice cream brand, Ben & Jerry.
Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield told HuffPost Live that they’d make a cannabis-infused ice cream where marijuana is legal. The legality of cannabis now is kind of fuzzy, however.
“Makes sense to me,” Cohen said. “Combine your pleasures.”Greenfield stopped short of fully endorsing a Ben & Jerry’s weed-filled ice cream. He did say, however, that he and Cohen have had “previous experiences with substances. I think legalizing marijuana is a wonderful thing, rather than putting people in jail.”
Ben & Jerry must love the herb — just look at the names of the flavors: Satisfy My Bowl, Cherry Garcia, Half Baked, and the Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies Encore Edition. Clearly, the brand caters to pot smokers and edible lovers.
Unfortunately, Ben and Jerry have higher ups who would make such a decision. For now, we’re not sure if it’ll happen. But we can hope! So, let’s hope that one day we can go to the grocery store and actually find a version of Satisfy My Bowl that lives up to the expectations the name sets.
