The JoBros are back!
After a two year hiatus, the Jonas Brothers gave their fans the first listen to their newest music, at a sold-out concert at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday night. Amongst the songs they debuted, one tune is getting the most attention.
“Wedding Bells” is rumored to be written about Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas’ ex. In the lead-in to the song, Nick told his fans “I don’t think I’ve ever written a song that makes me as uncomfortable as this one. Some things happened in the last year that affected me in that moment.”
So what is it about the song that’s raising eyebrows? This June Cyrus announced her engagement to actor Liam Helmsworth and the songs lyrics are “She says, ‘Can you keep a secret/ A ceremony’s set for June/ I know it’s a rush, but I just love him so much/ I hope that you can meet him soon’” and continues into the chorus with “I don’t want to love, if it’s not you/ I don’t want to hear the wedding bells bloom/ Maybe we can try one last time/ But I don’t want to hear the wedding bells chime.”
And perhaps the biggest hint is when Nick croons, “If you recall our anniversary falls/ Eleven nights into June.”
As fans will know, this happens to be the date the two met for the first time, as reported in Cyrus’ own autobiography, “Miles to Go.”
Kind of a give away, right? Listen to the song from the concert below and judge for yourself.
The Jonas Brothers premiered two other songs titled “First Time” and “Let’s Go.” The fifth studio albums from the brothers is still in the works and doesn’t have a name or release date as of yet.
