Is the Italian Mob Taking a Stronger Stance Against ISIS Than Obama?

Giovanni Gambino, son of infamous gangster John Gambino, says that the Mafia in a better position to protect New York City from ISIS than the feds. Gambino also criticized the FBI and Homeland Security, saying they lack the “human intelligence” to deal with terror threats and they are usually late to respond. He says what’s needed is folks, like the mafia, tracking people’s movements and actions.

It’s true that the Mafia and its allies are connected to neighborhoods and know what’s happening on the streets. Gambino warns terrorists: “Wherever the Sicilian influence is strong in New York, ISIS interlopers simply won’t be able to set up shop.”

“The world is dangerous today,” Gambino told New Yorkers, “but people living in New York neighborhoods with Sicilian connections should feel safe, we make sure our friends and families are protected from extremists and terrorists, especially the brutal, psychopathic organization that calls itself the Islamic State.”

Gambino also believes that Hollywood stars like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro need to do more when it comes to publicly taking a stand against the terror group.

As crazy as all this may sound, Gambino’s statements come after police in southern Italy admitted that the Mafia has become a key and useful ally in combatting Islamist plots. One officer revealed that ISIS are too scared to enter areas including Sicily, Calabria, Puglia and the city on Naples for fear of being taken out by mob bosses.

The mafia seems to have begun thriving again in New York, where money that would be spent on outlawing them is being spent on combating terrorism threats. And now, the mafia fights ISIS.
