Burger King Japan Comes Up with a Strikingly Unique Black Burger

When it comes to burgers, there are all kinds of varieties.

Whether you’re looking at a basic cheeseburger, one with exotic toppings or one stuffed with unusual fillings, the burger can take on lots of forms.

The latest burger from Burger King Japan, however, may be the winner when it comes to uniqueness.

The so-called Kuro Diamond and Kuro Pearl burgers feature black cheese, black garlic sauce and a completely black bun. The dark hue is owed to bamboo charcoal on the bun and the cheese, while the sauce is colored with squid ink. Both of these ingredients are common food additive colorants in Japan.
