Here’s some ironic Jared Fogle prison news for the week: The convicted pedophile has a new job — making and serving sandwiches at the Federal Correctional Institution, Englewood, in Colorado.
TMZ broke the news story a short while ago, and they report that fellow inmates aren’t necessarily thrilled with the whole thing.
The problem … inmates felt Fogle was getting celebrity treatment with a cushy job, and especially after he was beaten up in January, so officials decided to move him from the inmate cafeteria.
Fogle’s fellow inmates can’t be happy about this … he got what you might call a promotion. Now he’s serving food at the correctional officers’ cafeteria, which has higher-end food, including steaks.
The former Subway spokesman has been in the news a lot lately. Regarding the aforementioned attack, which occurred on January 29, Fogle was left bloodied and bruised when fellow inmate Steven Nigg, 60, pushed him to the ground punched him multiple times in the face. And, according to the video below from local news station Denver 7, Nigg has no regrets about his actions.
Fogle is currently serving a 15-year sentence. No word yet if he has to asks officers, “Would you like a six-inch or a foot-long?” whenever they ask for lunch.
