Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift Dominate 19th Annual MTV EMAs
North Americans Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift won big at the 2012 MTV European Music Awards Sunday night at Frakfurt’s Festhalle.
The native Pennsylvanian beat out Rihanna taking home three of the five awards she was nominated for: Best Female, Best Live and Best Look. The Barbados-born R&B singer went home with none of the six award categories she was in the running for.
The Canadian-born Bieber also took home three awards for Best World Stage, Best Pop and Best Male – the last two were repeat wins for the 18-year-old.
Not surprisingly, world-wide pop sensation, South Korea’s Psy took the award for Best Video, thanks to his hit “Gangnam Style.”
In one of the more special moments of the night, the late Whitney Houston was honored with the Global Icon award for her contributions and influence in the pop music world.
