Katie Holmes is one busy lady.
Since her high-profile split for Tom Cruise, the actress has turned her focus on a career in the fashion and beauty industry. Her 2013 Holmes & Yang ready-to-wear collection, which launched at Maxfield’s and is carried by retailers such as Barneys New York and Dallas boutique Forty Five Ten, will make its New York Fashion Week debut on Sep 12.
And now, the star has just signed on to a major endorsement deal as the first celebrity face of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. She is also going to take on a collaborator role with the brand.
“It’s always exciting to meet new people but Bobbi is exceptional,” Holmes says. “What a woman. … It’s makeup that’s very accessible and it’s stuff that you can throw on at 9 a.m. and it’ll get you through the whole day. You just feel good. Sometimes it’s just a lipstick or a blush and you suddenly feel like, ‘OK, I can do this’ — whatever you need to do. So I’m very thrilled to be a part of this.”
As for what Brown thinks of Holmes, she commented, “We weren’t looking for a celebrity — just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she’s just ridiculously, naturally beautiful.”
Holmes’ first ad for the brand will debut in Spring 2013, and in the Fall her name will appear on a capsule collection of color cosmetics.
