KKK Hands Out Candy Bags to Recruit Members

White supremacist group, the KKK, has a new recruitment strategy in South Carolina. The group is reportedly going door to door leaving bags of candy along with pamphlets that are calling readers to “Save the land, join the Klan.”

Fox Carolina stated that there is a phone number on the pamphlet for the “Klan Hotline.” The number directs to a voice mail message which says: “Be a man, join the Klan! Illegal immigration is destroying America  […] always remember if it ain’t white, it ain’t right. White power.”

Robert Jones, a member of the Klan, told Fox Carolina that the hotline has been receiving 2,000 calls a day, with many people expressing their interest in joining the group. He went on to explain that the KKK is not a hate group but rather a “Christian civil rights” organization.

He added that residents have nothing to fear regarding the pamphlets, as long as they don’t do anything the Ku Klux Klan deems as “immoral.”

Many of the residents who received the candy bags and pamphlets expressed their disapproval. One woman from Seneca said, “[I] talked to several neighbors. They were very angry, very upset, and very ashamed at the same time – that this exists.”

The Klan claims it is currently focusing on the issue of illegal immigration in the US.
