LISTEN: Drake Releases ‘Started from the Bottom’ a Week Early

You know how rappers seem extremely confident with themselves and throw out lyric after lyric about being legit and not needing other’s validation?

Well we know at least one rapper who follows up and walks the walk. Although Drake was supposed to release his newest single during Grammy weekend, which takes place Sunday Feb. 10, he made the choice to put out the new tune a week early – and seemed to have no hesitation.

Had Drake stuck to the original plan and timed the release around music’s biggest night, it might have gotten a lot more attention and garnered more listeners. So why did he deviate and put out the song at a much quieter time?

“I didn’t feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song,” he wrote on his website. “It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me.”

‘Started from the Bottom’ is the first single from the rapper’s third album, which is yet to be named.  Check out the tune and give us your thoughts!
