What was supposed to be a normal fun day at a theme park turned into a deathly nightmare.
10-year-old Jasmine Martinez was at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Friday, when she decided to ride the Revolution roller coaster. What happened next changed things forever.
According to KTLA, after going for a ride she was found unconscious when the vehicle returned to the station. While she was still breathing, paramedics were rushed to the park and Jasmine was airlifted out by a helicopter.
The young girl was taken to Northridge hospital to be treated. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office Jasmine Martinez died Saturday.
An autopsy will be performed as medical officials are unsure if the cause of death is related to the roller coaster.
The ride, which is known as the first of its kind, features a vertical loop and goes up to 55 mph. The coaster continued to operate just hours after the scene had been cleared.
