A man from Sarasota, Florida was arrested after he was caught napping in a stranger’s home. 29-year-old Timothy Bontrager was charged with a felony count of burglary, according to reports from WTSP. This is a reminder never to fall asleep on the job.
Bontrager allegedly broke into the home during the early hours of the morning and fell asleep on the couch. He was discovered around 7:30 a.m. after the homeowner awoke and discovered him sleeping in her living room.
Startled, she asked him what he was doing in the residence, and he apologized. He left while she called police.
The homeowner, who has not been identified, then realized her wallet, driver’s license, credit cards, and personal checks were missing.
Authorities arrived and and began a search based on a description from the victim. They found Bontrager walking a nearby road shortly thereafter. He was taken to County Jail, and it is unknown when he will be released.
The homeowner told police that she believed he entered the home through an unlocked sliding glad door at the back of the house.
