This story is something you’d hope only to hear about in a horror movie, but it happened in real life. A man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home at 4:30 a.m. and attacked her with an ax. 28-year-old Jimmy Daniel Raybon, from North Carolina, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
He apparently turned up at her house in a clown mask and rainbow wig, and swung at her with an ax.
Raybon, who also goes by the name Robert Gross, is believed to have been an acquaintance of the victim.
According to police, the woman was not injured in the attack—and she briefly recognized Raybon after she was able to dislodge his mask.
Afraid of being recognized, Raybon fled the scene but was apprehended later that day.
According to The News Herald, Raybon has served time in prison on various charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, larceny, common law robbery, assault on a female, felonious restraint, possession of stolen goods, and eluding arrest.
His most recent brush with the law landed him in jail on a $6,000 bond.
