Man Goes to the Movies In a Princess Gown for the Best Reason

A 25-year-old man in Alabama might just be the best uncle ever after what he did for his four-year-old niece. Izzy, his niece, was excited to go see “Cinderella” with her favorite uncle at the movie theater, but she was really nervous to wear her special princess gown out in public. Her uncle, Jesse Nagy, knew what he had to do.

“She’s like my mini-me,” he told ABC News. “I really wanted to spend time with her, so I said “let’s go have a princess day.””

Izzy agreed, but only if her uncle agreed to be a princess too. So, to make his niece feel less self-concious, the muscular and heavily tattooed Nagy borrowed a prom dress from a friend and a sparkly pink handbag.

After donning the matching princess outfits, Nagy and Izzy were off to the movie theater—under the condition that Izzy got to wear the crown, and Nagy the a smaller tiara.

“If it’s going to make her happy, I’ll do it, I don’t care,” said Nagy.

When they arrived at the theater an employee asked to take the duo’s picture, which was posted to Reddit. The pretty pair quickly went viral, with over 1.7 million views.

Nagy told ABC News that the reaction online was sudden and overwhelming.

“I had no idea,” he said. “It wasn’t until midway through the movie my phone kept ringing with people texting asking if I was at a theater in Alabama. I’m not even subscribed to these sites so I said “what the heck is going on?””

Nagy said he looks forward to many uncle-niece outings with Izzy in the future.
