Man Killed by Pit Bull While Trying to Resuscitate the Dog’s Owner

A pit bull attacked and killed a man who was trying to help the dog’s ill owner by giving him CPR on Sunday night in Wheeling, West Virginia, authorities told news sources.

According to WTRF 7, police Lieutenant Phil Redford said the dog owner was likely having a heart attack when the other man tried to resuscitate him, only to be viciously attacked by the pit bull.

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a pit bull attack. The first responders forced the door open to get inside where they found the two men, one unconscious from the violent dog attack and the other from apparently natural causes.

Both men were later pronounced dead at a local hospital, and the dog was apprehended by county officials and placed in quarantine. The names of the men were not released to the media.
