A classic diamond ring is the traditional wedding ring most couples choose for their engagement. For Lucas Unger and Carlee Leifkes, they wanted something completely unique and non-traditional. They decided to have the stone centerpiece of the ring made with Unger’s wisdom tooth.
Leifke’s posted a photo of her ring on her Facebook page saying, “So incredibly excited to marry my best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond. We have never been the ‘traditional couple,’ why the heck start now?”
Unger proposed to Leifke on Halloween in front of her entire family.
In an interview with ABC News, she said, “Diamonds are overrated. We’re a very non-traditional couple, and we like to have fun. The toot symbolizes the weird, quirky odd couple we are.”
The ring was made at Bridwell Diamonds and Jewelry in downtown Los Angeles by George Boshaura. He said in his long 30-years of being in that industry, he has ever made a ring with a wisdom tooth before. He recalls designing the ring to have had been very exciting.
The couple will be getting married in Las Vegas on November 21 with an Elvis Presley impersonator officiating their marriage.
Is this a sweet gesture or just plain gross?
