When you’ve been put under anesthesia for a medical procedure, you’re in a completely vulnerable state. Obviously it is uncomfortable to imagine that the medical staff taking care of you might take advantage of your unconsciousness. But that’s exactly what a man claims happened to him, after he was shocked to discover he had been placed in women’s underwear while he was put under for a recent procedure.
Andrew Walls, 32, is suing the Delaware Surgery Center after he allegedly woke up from a colonoscopy wearing a pair of pink panties. The procedure happened in October of 2012, according to the New York Post. Walls claims that the incident left him out of work and emotionally stressed.
In the lawsuit filed, Walls states that he believes it was supposed to be a prank—because he was an employee of the medical center at the time of the procedure.
The lawsuit says:
“When the plaintiff recovered from the effects of the anesthesia administered by defendants, he awoke to realize that while he was unconscious pink women’s underwear had been placed on his body. When the plaintiff initially presented for his colonoscopy he had not been wearing pink women’s underwear and at no time did the plaintiff voluntarily, knowingly, or intentionally place the pink women’s underwear upon himself.”
Walls’ lawsuit cites his colleagues failure to maintain proper policies and procedures for patient care.
