Women across the U.S. and beyond are voicing their frustration with Matt Lauer after he asked GM CEO Marry Barra if she can be both good at her job and a good mom.
More specifically, he said, “You’re a mom I mentioned; two kids. You said in an interview not too long ago that your kids said they’re going to hold you accountable for one job, and that’s being a mom.”
He then continued, “Given the pressures of this job at General Motors, can you do both well?”
Barra didn’t seem exceptionally happy about the question, but answered it nicely. The above video captures the entire incident.
Backlash was instant across Twitter:
#mattlauer have you been a good parent while traveling the world for your job?

Following the backlash, Lauer insisted that he wasn’t trying to be demeaning. Yet, it appears that women aren’t buying it.
