It’s a disturbing scenario when a children’s meal is used as a vehicle to sell and buy narcotics, but that’s exactly what’s been going out at a popular restaurant chain location.
26-year-old Shantia Dennis was arrested after undercover cops busted her for selling heroin in Happy Meal boxes.
According to Mike Manko, the communications director for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, customers looking for heroin were using a code at the drive-through where they’d order a boy’s toy. They were then instructed to proceed to the first window where they would receive a Happy Meal box containing heroin. The cost: $80.
Undercover officers recovered 10 stamp bags of heroin during the drug buy in the box and an additional 50 bags after arresting Dennis. A small amount of marijuana was also recovered, reports CNN.
Dennis has been charged with two counts of possession, one count of criminal use of a communication facility, one count of prohibited acts of delivery and one count of possession with intent to deliver.
