Mila the elephant recently made headlines after the above video hit the Web.
She was born in the wild in Africa and then sent to New Zealand to be a circus’ lone elephant. After her circus career, she was sent to the Franklin Zoo, where once again she was the only of her species.
Fast forward to 2014, and Mila was recently transferred to the San Diego Zoo. Her keepers were convinced that she needed to be around other elephants and went on a fundraising rampage. They were able to bring in $1.5 million to transfer her to California.
The 41-year-old was finally introduced to Mary, the matriarch at the San Diego Zoo. The interaction was so moving that people around the world have been enjoying the above video.
