Alexandra Robertson, a 20-year-old British model, decided to put her long limbs to the test and measure up against the world’s tallest women. Her legs are officially 47-inches long — five inches longer than Russia’s Anastasia Strashevskaya, the winner of Russia’s “Miss Longest Legs” competition.
The beauty of her story is that she hasn’t let her above average height get her down. “I do get some stares and I suppose I do intimidate men sometimes,” Robertson recently told The Daily Mail.
“I often hear things like ‘do you play basketball?’ but I just turn around and reply ‘no, do you play mini-golf?’ and we end up having a laugh.”
Robertson does admit finding clothes that fit her can be quite difficult.
Her ability to embrace her uniqueness is very important for women of all ages. According to DoSomething.org, approximately 91 percent of all women in the U.S. are unhappy with their bodies. And 95 percent of women with eating disorders are between the ages of 12 and 25-years-old.
By coming forward with her lanky legs, Robertson paves the way for others with unique or “different” body parts. Way to go Alexandra!
