Pageant Mom Secretly Feeds Teen Daughter Tapeworms

An upcoming episode of Untold Stories of the E.R. features a Florida nurse who recalled the moment when a teenage girl’s mysterious stomach ache was discovered to be a tapeworm infestation.

E.R. nurse Maricar Cabral-Osorio told Discovery Fit and Health that when the girl came in with stomach pains and a swollen belly the first theory the hospital staff had was that she was pregnant. But an ultrasound showing an empty womb ruled out that possibility.

However, Cabral-Osorio noticed something foreign in another part of her body. After tests were performed, everyone was still stumped as to what was causing this girl so much pain.

The girl then excused herself to go to the bathroom and moments later began to scream. Hospital staff rushed in to find a toilet bowl full of tapeworms.

“It was so gross and she had pooped all these tapeworms. There were a couple that were very long and wiggling around trying to get out of the toilet bowl,” Cabral-Osorio said. “We were wondering, how did she get those tape worms? And then we saw the mother turn white.”

The mom then broke down and confessed to buying tapeworm eggs from Mexico and feeding them to her daughter. The eggs hatched shortly after being ingested.

After the shocking discovery, the mom started apologizing to her daughter saying that she just wanted to make her a little skinnier before the next beauty pageant.

We cannot believe the extreme measures these competitive pageant moms go to in order to make their daughters into “pageant queens.”

People can become infected with tapeworms by eating under cooked meat, causing appetite loss, stomach pain and diarrhea, according to the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention.
