Talk about a second chance. And a third, and a fourth, and a fifth.
Sergeant German Bosque of the Opa-Locka Police Department in Florida is up for dismissal from his job for a sixth time following an alleged offense of letting his future father-in-law take care of a police AR-15 assault weapon.
According to MSN, he has “previously been accused of busting a handcuffed suspect’s skull, having drugs and alcohol in his squad car, and calling in sick from Cancun (among many other things)” but managed to keep his job.
There’s more, The Inquisitr reports that though this is the officer’s sixth time up for dismissal at his current job, he has been fired eight times before at over three police departments, though none of the previous charges have stuck. The latest screw-up is going to be left up to an arbitrator to determine if it’s time for Bosque to go.
We’re all for forgiveness and all, but after yet another offense by someone who is supposed to protect and serve us, we think this guy – who is described as the state’s “most disciplined, fined, fired, arrested police officer” — has had more than his fair share of second chances.
A final decision is expected to be issued in 60 to 90 days.
