Mysterious Space Debris Researchers Call ‘WT1190F’ on Collision Course with Earth

Just WTF is this piece of space debris currently headed towards Earth? Well, it seems scientists and researchers are wondering the same exact thing. They’ve dubbed the mysterious object WT1190F.

According to the European Space Agency, it’s apparently just an abandoned rocket body, and will most likely burn up as it enter’s our atmosphere above the Indian Ocean. If it happens to stay intact, it will simply plunge into the waves

It was first sighted in 2013 by the Catalina Sky Survey and has been orbiting the planet every three weeks, reports the ESA.

The unidentified object is scheduled to collide with Earth off the coast of Sri Lanka on November 13.
