National Margarita Day 2013 is Feb. 22!

Just the thought of one seems to whisk us away to some tropical beach.

Lounging on the sun-soaked sand and looking out onto the turquoise seas, we take a sip of paradise. Cool, refreshing… delicious!

Any way you prefer to take your margarita is the right way: a lightly salted rim, on the rocks, frozen or puréed.

It’s five o’clock somewhere and you should have a drink in your hand.

National Margarita Day, which is held on February 22, is the ideal day to indulge in a little bliss. After all, it is one of the most popular drinks of all time!

The  classic margarita emerged during the 1930’s to 1940’s, but nobody really quite knows who the exact individual responsible for inventing the cocktail is. Whoever it happens to be, cheers to you!

Here at the office, we love margaritas! Aside from the fact that they get you drunk, the sweet and salty combination is enough to make anyone’s mouth water.

To acknowledge the holiday, we wanted to share a few tasty recipes with you from Sauza Blue Tequila. This handcrafted tequila has the freshest, crisp agave flavor on the market and is perfect for creating a premium margarita.

Sauza® Gold Margarita
Serves 1

Ingredients:
1 1/2 parts Sauza® Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
1/2 part John Dekuyper & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
Ice, salt and orange for serving

Instructions:
In a shaker filled with ice, combine lime juice, Sauza® Reposado 100% Agave Tequila, and liqueur. Shake vigorously. Strain into a glass filled with ice and rimmed with salt (optional). Garnish with an orange wedge. Salud!

Sauza® Pineapple Lime Cilantro Margarita

Serves 6

Ingredients:

2 cups Pineapple Juice

1/8 cup cilantro leaf, minced

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 cup orange juice

6 parts Sauza® Blue 100% Agave Silver Tequila

2 parts orange liqueur

2 cups ice

1 lime and 1 orange for garnish

Salt

Instructions:

Rim your glasses with salt by rubbing the edge with a lime wedge and dipping into a plate of salt. In a shaker combine pineapple juice, cilantro, lime juice, orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur and ice. Shake until cold. Serve up or on the rocks.

Sauza® Peach Margaritas

Serves 6

Ingredients:

8 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila

4 parts DeKuyper® Peach Schnapps

2 parts JDK & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur

6 parts fresh squeezed lime juice

12 parts Peach Nectar

ice

Sugar for rim

1 Peach for garnish

Instructions:

Prepare glasses with sugar rims if desired. In a pitcher filled with ice, combine Sauza® Blue Silver, Peach Schnapps, JDK & Sons™ O3 Premium Orange Liqueur, lime juice and peach nectar. Stir to combine. Chill and serve over ice in prepared glasses.
