Neighbors Mistake Murder Victim Dangling from Fence for Horrific Halloween Decoration

According to CBS News, the corpse of 31-year-old Rebecca Cade was initially ignored by neighbors because they mistook the murder victim for a horrific Halloween decoration. Her body was found dangling from a chain-link fence that bordered a power plant in Chillicothe, Ohio.

“It was the worst Halloween scene you could ever imagine. It was straight out of a horror story,” resident Tammy Dixon told ABC.

Police told the Columbus Dispatch that it looks like her sleeve got caught on the fence while trying to climb over to escape her killer. She was so badly beaten that her face was nearly unrecognizable.

It wasn’t until construction workers realized the shocking truth that authorities were contacted to remove her body and investigate.

Police arrested Donnie Cochenour, Jr., 27, who is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
