Newly Discovered Fanged-Frog’s Highly Unusual Reproductive Process Has Scientists Stumped

Scientists at UC Berkeley are scratching their heads as to how a recently discovered frog species is able to not only give birth to live tadpoles — something no other frog has done before – but also how it is able to do so without any reproductive organs available on the male.

The video above explains that while most frog eggs are fertilized after the female has already laid them, in some cases, the male frogs have organs to fertilize the eggs internally. For this particular species however, neither one of those seem to be the case: Something that has scientists extremely confused.

Check out the details on the extremely unusual fanged hopper above.
