After a weekend break, Lionsgate is right back on it. The new work week starts off with another casting announcement from the production company for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Actress Maria Howell will play Seeder, a former Hunger Games winner from District 11.
Possible spoiler alert: Unlike many of the other former Hunger Games champions, Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, takes an immediate liking to Seeder from their first meeting, when Seeder gives Katniss important information about the families of Rue and Thresh.
Howell has previously held parts in projects including The Blind Side, The Vampire Diaries, and the TBS shows, Meet the Browns and House of Payne. She is best known for her role as the choir soloist from the movie, The Color Purple. Apart from her work in The Hunger Games, she will also next appear in NBC’s fall show Revolution.
We predict more casting announcement for the remainder of the week from Lionsgate, as the movie goes into production in September. The film is slated for a November 22, 2013 release date.
