Athletes and marathoners are known for pushing limits and taking things to new levels. Well, that same goes for ultra-marathon runner Ray “Reza” Baluchi. This adrenaline junkie set out off the coast of Florida, in a giant inflatable bubble known as the Ocean Bubble, on a mission to float past the Bahamas, Haiti, and Cuba on a five month voyage.
Prior to leaving port, Baluchi received a letter from the U.S. Coast Guard urging him to not take part on this journey. However, he decided to ignore his warning and set sail anyway resulting in him being picked up by the Coast Guard just a few says later.
According to CBS 12, he now faces charges of up to 7 years in prison and a fine of $40,000.
