Seems U.S. athletes have been all over the acting world recently. Ryan Lochte has booked a gig on 30 Rock and 90210, the female gymnasts chatted up Danielle and Shane on Big Brother recently and Gabby Douglas is set for an appearance on The Vampire Diaries.
Now another one of our Olympians is turning to the acting world. Track & field runner Kerron Clement, who ran in the 400M hurdle finales in this year’s games, will appear on the Oct. 12th episode of The Young and the Restless, reports EW. He will play an extra in the Coffeehouse.
It may not be a big, glamorous role but it’s a dream come true for the record holder none-the-less. He revealed that he’s been a fan of the CBS soap since the 90s. “I always thought that it would have been fun to be a part of such an incredible cast,” he said in a statement. “I’m very thankful to be a part of the show now. Acting is certainly a passion of mine, and I will definitely continue to study and get better. And, I hope they consider me for another role again.”
We hope so too.
