It’s the interview everyone will be watching—Lance Armstrong will speak exclusively with Oprah Winfrey about his alleged doping scandal and the cheating and lying charges that went along with it.
The 90-minute interview will take place at Armstrong’s Austin, Texas home and air on Thursday, January 17th from 9PM-10:30PM ET/PT on the OWN network (The Oprah Winfrey Network).
This will be Armstrong’s first interview since he was stripped of his seven Tour de France medals in October 2012, after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a report accusing him of doping throughout his career.
The aftermath of the report was fast and furious—sponsors dropped him, he lost millions of dollars in endorsement deals, and he was banned permanently from professional cycling.
At the end of 2012, Armstrong resigned as the chairman of “Livestrong,” a foundation he created to fight against cancer (Armstrong is a survivor of testicular cancer).
The famed cyclist has always vehemently denied the doping allegations, and it will be interesting to see if he still maintains his innocence.
