TMZ just reported that Orange is the New Black star Taryn Manning was arrested for making criminal threats against a former close friend, fashion designer Jeanine Heller.
The two have had a complicated relationship. They were once close friends, but that fell apart and the 36-year-old star alleges that Heller went “on a campaign to make Taryn paranoid, claiming among other things one of Taryn’s friends was selling secrets to a gossip website.” The ensuing back-and-forth led a judge to issue a mutual restraining order.
However, according to court documents, Manning left Heller threatening messages via text and social media that included: “I will kill you, bitch” … “Go f**k yourself and die” … “What’s taking so long? Shouldn’t you be dead by now?”
The judge determined this violated the restraining order, and because Manning didn’t show up in court, she was sited for contempt and police then arrested her.
But don’t think Heller is the innocent victim here; she’s been arrested twice this year for violating that same restraining order and contacting the star. According to The Daily Mail:
Last month, Jeanine was charged with second degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection by contacting the Boomkat singer.
Taryn Manning, who plays Pennsatucky in the prison show, claims fashion designer Jeanine Heller allegedly she sent her hundreds of online messages as well as sending texts and calling between April and July.
The New York Post’s Page Six reported that Heller was released without bail and the judge Lisa Sokoloff prevented her from contacting the actress, her mother or the family dog, Penguin.
However, an update on TMZ reports that the District Attorney declined to prosecute, meaning the star will not be charged.
