In 1980, Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar purchased this four-bedroom pink mansion in Miami Beach, Florida, for just over $750,000.
Escobar only owned the mansion for seven years before it was seized by the US government in 1987, just a few years before he was killed by Colombian police in 1993.
On Tuesday, the home was demolished after being purchased by Christian de Berdouare, who was initially unaware of the mansion’s history. De Berdouare bought it from a private owner in 2014 and plans to construct a new house on the property.
After the demolition, the new owners hired professional treasure hunters to scour through the rubble in hopes of finding some hidden treasures.
