Philip Oliveira from Rockdale, Texas claims to have made the discovery of a lifetime. According to Oliveira, his dogs killed a real-life chupacabra—a mythical creature that sucks the blood of small animals.
The creature—which Oliveira has kept frozen in a plastic garbage bag—is curled up in a twisted, almost deformed, ball. It’s body and limbs are of disproportionate lengths, and it is mostly furless, except for some patches of brown hair along it’s back.
Experts from Texas State University believe the creature is actually just a mangy coyote.
Jonah Evans, a mammologists with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed that biologists get reports like this all the time.
“Most TPWD biologists have seen hundreds of similar photos,” said Evans. “There is no doubt about what it is.”
Oliveira however is certain he found the real deal
“It’s too big for a coyote,” he told the Austin American-Statesman.
Apparently the Parks and Wildlife department in Texas receives multiple reports similar to this one every single year—so far nothing has proven to actually be the mythical creature.
Could this find be the one? Check out the slideshow below to see Oliveira’s discovery.
