According to reports, more than 100 armed officers conducted a raid on a Paris apartment where suspected ISIS militants were hiding. It is believed that the 27-year-old mastermind between the recent Paris massacres, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was inside the apartment along with at least six others.
Diesel was sent to the scene in order to sniff out booby traps during the mission.
The raid led to a firefight between the suspected terrorists and police, during which a female suicide bomber came out firing an AK-47 before she reportedly detonated her suicide vest. Diesel was killed in the attack.
Diesel was in the front lines of the attack, and is being credited for helping to defend the country.
It is not yet known if Abaaoud survived the attack, or if he escaped.
