Caught on Tape: Dramatic Moment Off-Duty Cop Saves Suicide Jumper from Certain Death

One police officer saved a suicidal man’s life and the dramatic moment was caught on tape. Now the officer is being called a hero. Police were first notified by concerned witnesses about a man who was attempting to commit suicide. Authorities received multiple calls reporting sightings of someone hanging off a local bridge in Raleigh, North Carolina.

According to ABC, the man was ready to jump when an off-duty officer who was on his way home stopped to help. The anonymous cop stays and talks with the would-be jumper, and appears to convince the man to rethink his actions.  He then is able to help the other man back up and coax him back over the bridge railing to safety, where they share an emotional hug.

The footage then shows both men walk back to their cars, and go off on their separate ways.
