When 23-year-old Andrea Mears suspected a drone enthusiast was taking pictures of and recording bikini-clad women at Hammonasset Beach in Connecticut, she decided to call the cops on him. If that’s as far as the misunderstanding went, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but Mears wasn’t satisfied with just calling the authorities.
No, she decided to take matters into her own hands and delivered a vicious beat-down to the poor guy who was just testing his drone at the beach. Apparently he was at the wrong place, at the wrong time. When Mears mounted the man and started beating him up – complete with a shirt rip, wrestler’s hold and mouth gauge– she had no idea the man was recording the whole event on his phone.
When the cops came, he was able to show them the evidence, which led to Mears’ arrest for assault and breach of peace.
As we said, misunderstandings happen and can be excusable but physically attacking someone based on nothing but your suspicions isn’t the correct way to right a wrong.
