Queen of Versailles is the documentary that showcases the Siegel family, their 90,000-square-foot mansion and their financial fall as the economy took a hit.
David Siegel, the man behind the corporation, has 11 children, but it was his oldest that was found dead Saturday morning. Victoria Siegel,18, was taken to the Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida, where she was pronounced dead.
As for the cause of death nothing has been revealed yet, but a medical examiner will determine that in the upcoming days.
Siegel’s wife Jackie took to Facebook to address the situation with friends and family posting: “It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria. Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out, the family will share it. Until that time there is no comment.”
David, Victoria’s father, is the founder and creator of the largest timeshare company in the world, Westgate Resort. However his family experienced extreme financial issues as they built their own version of the palace of Versailles, which was recorded in the 2012 documentary.
The Siegel family is asking for privacy at this time, but David will make a statement on his daughter’s passing soon.
