Red Bull Illume is the world’s premier international photography competition dedicated to the world of action and adventure sports.
The purpose of this renowned competition is to showcase the most amazing and creative sports photography as works of art and bring the public into the ever-changing world of action sports. Selected winning images are then put on display on life-sized lightboxes for the public to view. It’s honestly one of the most fascinating photo displays we have ever had the opportunity of witnessing.
Image Quest 2013, the third edition of the competition, saw more than 6,000 photographers from 124 countries submitting some 28,000 entries but only 50 images in 10 categories made the cut. Each was selected by a panel of international judges as well as photo editors from prominent publications.
The 50 finalists were on outdoor display on the waterfront in Scottsdale, Arizona, November 14-24, 2013, during Illume’s North American tour. A percentage of all proceeds will go to Wings for Life, a spinal cord research foundation.
And, in case you missed it, the exhibition will make its way back around to the States in March. The exhibition’s next stop is Vancouver, Canada, from January 31st – Feb 8, 2014. Admission is free for all ages.
This is one art exhibit you don’t want to miss.
