R.I.P. ‘Mr. Drummond’ Conrad Bain of Diff’rent Strokes

Beloved Actor Conrad Bain, known for playing Phillip Drummond on TV’s Diff’rent Strokes┬áhas died at 89.

According to TMZ, Bain’s family sources reported that he died on Monday in Livermore, CA. Currently, there aren’t any details on the cause of death. TMZ spoke to his daughter Jennifer who shared, “He was an amazing person. He was a lot like Mr. Drummond, but much more interesting in real life. He was an amazing father.”

Bain was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Jean Agnes Young and Stafford Harrison Bain. The actor studied at Banff School of Fine Arts and served in the Canadian Army during while World War II was raging. Once in the U.S., Bain studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Bain is survived by three sons, daughter and twin brother Bonar Bain.
