Revealing she suffered a minor heart attack last Tuesday, Rosie O’Donnell says it’s a “miracle” she’s still alive.
In a post on her blog, O’Donnell, 50, said her heart attack started after she performed some strenuous activity when she helped a woman get out of her car in a parking lot. She felt her chest aching a few hours later, in addition to soreness in her arms, nausea and clammy skin.
After a quick internet search on her painful symptoms, she decided to take a Bayer aspirin like she had seen on tv commercials but decided to forego calling 911.
“Thank god/saved by a tv commercial/literally,” she wrote earlier today on her blog.
Her doctors later found her coronary artery was 99 percent blocked. Her rep, Cindi Berger told PEOPLE “She is now home and resting comfortably. She is very, very lucky.”
O’Donnell urges others to take her experience as a lesson, writing “know the symptoms ladies/listen to the voice inside/the one we all so easily ignore/CALL 911/save urself.”
