3 Strange ‘Fountain of Youth Secrets’ Machines from Japan

Face Slimmer Exercise Mouthpiece

The Land of the Rising Sun has given us sushi, great sportbikes, and some really crazy stuff we can’t easily explain. The country’s Japan Trend Shop now offers consumers a few Fountain of Youth secrets — machines and devices that claim to keep women looking young so that there’s no need to go under the knife. Fair warning: These devices are a bit unconventional.

The Face Slimmer Exercise Mouthpiece is made from silicone rubber and retails for $62. The oddly shaped device promises to tighten sagging jowls by strengthening facial muscles around the mouth, nose and in the cheek area. (You can imagine what our first thoughts where when we saw this gadget.) One reviewer noted, “[Its] oversized sugar-pink lips … would be more at home in a horror movie than in a family bathroom … [It] makes me dribble unattractively.”

Fun! And the best news? You can find the Face Slimmer Exercise Mouthpiece on Amazon.com for only $52!

Then there’s the company’s Beau Bust Roller: This product is designed to “stimulate breast growth and firmness.” The site’s description says:

Using Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS), the Beau Bust Roller can be used to stimulate breast growth and firmness. It even works in the bath! Simply sit back and relax in the tub, and roll the device over your chest to encourage the results you want. Use the included bust cream to enhance the experience!

This naturopathic invention can be yours for the low cost of $85. We found the Red Handle Hot Pink Bust Roller Firming Enhancer Breast Massager on Amazon for only $5.25; we have no idea if it’s as effective, but Amazon has a lot of firming creams as well.

The last of these Fountain of Youth secrets from Japan Trend Shop — at least among the one’s we’re discussing today — is the Facial Lift At Once Face Trainer (their name, not ours). You just hold it in your mouth once a day for three minutes, and “you will feel the electric buzzing work on your cheeks, chin, lips, mouth and even nose.” They claim it will tighten those facial muscles without paying a plastic surgeon to do the job for you.

The Amazon.com version? NuFACE Trinity Facial Trainer Kit, which goes for a whopping $325. But at least you don’t have to hold a vibrating device in your lips for any amount of time… unless you’re into that kind of thing.

Located in Tokyo, Japan Trend Shop was established in 2001 and specializes in “innovative lifestyle products, design goods, gadgets and more.” The company offers more than 1,000 of these creative products.
